Not everyone commands an audience in the same way. Drawing on almost two decades of experience across television, radio, podcasts, keynote speaking, acting, live performance and activism, I've spent much of my career observing what makes someone a compelling communicator. From commanding a stage to captivating an audience through a camera lens, I've identified distinct differences in how people naturally communicate: their delivery and their approach.

These observations, combined with my ongoing work as a presenter, performer and public speaking coach, have helped me develop four presenting personalities: The Performer, The Activist, The Keynote and The Anchor. When it comes to delivery, our presenting styles range from expressive (animated, spontaneous and energetic) to measured (composed, considered and deliberate). Meanwhile, our communication approach ranges from relational (connecting through warmth, storytelling and shared experiences) to direct (communicating through clarity, conviction and authority).
